I collaborated with some friends for this year's One Night Stand 24-hour video contest, again sponsored by CAT3. Credit goes to Nathan King Miller for doing most of the work, from concept to editing. Elizabeth Plue is the lovely lady in the frame above, and special thanks go to Justin West for his powerful 4 second cameo.
We had less than a day to make a 3 minute or less short film using a randomly drawn genre and object. This year the genre was Suspense/Thriller and the object was a trash bag and its contents. Don't be surprised if ours doesn't make sense to you-- it's pretty bizarre--but that's what you get when you make a movie in one night. Aside from the sleep deprivation, it was a lot of fun, once again.

Genre Holiday--Noir New Year's Day

Occasionally, I'll post a genre holiday short on this site as well as the project's site. But to make sure you see them all, check genreholiday.com.

Here it is. The first movie in the project. I made this one alone. Hopefully it's the only one in the project that will be like that. That wasn't my plan, I just did it as a last resort. In any case, we're off and running. [4 min 20MB]

The Genre Holiday Project

I'm launching a new project and a new site. It's called The Genre Holiday Project. What is The Genre Holiday Project? It's your favorite site that has a new original short film each holiday, with the theme of that holiday, paired alliteratively with a different genre. It begins Jan. 1 with Noir New Year's Day, followed by Martial Art's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Jan. 16. A full schedule is on the new site. I've also set up a message board. So check it out.

Dan Ware and Rachel Proffitt star in this video that won third place in the One Night Stand 24-hour video contest presented by CAT3-TV. We had less than 24 hours to make a three minute (or less) video using the randomly selected genre and object. This year the genre was Sci-Fi and the object was a sign. [3 min 13MB]

The Car Sale (The Lost Episode)

For years, anthropologists have speculated on the existence of a "lost episode" to complete the Mid-Mo Movies "Car Sale" Trilogy. The episode, according to the legend, would feature Evan and Daniel switching roles, with Daniel selling the car. While mainstream researchers swore it was a myth, akin to the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, or Sammy Davis Jr., there have always been those who claimed that not only was it made, but that it still exists and would eventually surface.
